Our Pastor

Lead Pastor Rick Shell came to Frederick Alliance Church in November of 2016 after serving 22 years as a pastor in eastern Pennsylvania. Rick was born in Kentucky but moved several times throughout his childhood due to his father being in the Navy. Rick joined the U.S. Navy after graduating from Walters State Community College in Eastern Tennessee. Rick was in the Navy for almost ten years. While serving in the Navy, he lived on both Coasts, with most of that time being in Connecticut at the Groton Submarine Base. While Rick was in the Navy, he met and married his wife, Sharron, a native Californian born in San Diego. After leaving the Navy, he and Sharron moved to Georgia, where Rick attended and graduated from Toccoa Falls College. Rick and Sharron then moved to Kentucky and attended and graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary. Rick has been a Pittsburgh Steelers fan since high school, and a St. Louis Cardinals fan since he was eight years old. Rick enjoys visiting national parks, hiking, reading, photography, and woodburning. Rick and Sharron are parents of two adult children—Chris and Sarah, and the grandparents of Chris and Elisa’s daughter, Clementine.
